Blog Hop Party!

 Friday, March 8, 2013

I have actually never done a give away before, so this is my very first one and I am very excited.  Michelle Foster from the Quilting Gallery is hosting a "Beat the Winter Blues - Quilters Blog Hop Party", which I am very excited to participate in.  If this is your first time visiting my blog, thanks so much for stopping by.  I am not sure about everyone else, but we have been really really hit hard with snow this past February.  We literally had no snow until February when we just got dumped on!  I am guessing we have probably gotten a total of at least 100 inches and I am not exaggerating.  Thank goodness for one of my retired neighbors who always seems to plow out my driveway before my husband, the kids, and I get home.  I am guessing he doesn't have any winter hobbies.  Anyways, I think everyone around me is really ready for spring, which is why I am giving away a Rolie Polie of Sweetcakes from Riley Blake.  I took pictures from different angles so you could see the majority of the fabrics in it.

Isn't it adorable!  To enter the give-away, all you have to do is leave a comment by telling me how many inches of snow you got in the month of February.  I will choose a random winner on March 15th, which is when the giveaway will close.  This giveaway is only available to United States residents.  Don't forget to stop on over to Michelle's website here to visit all the other participants, check out their blogs and enter their give-aways.

Good luck and Happy Quilting!

This giveaway is now closed!  Thanks for participating!

I'm not sure how much we ended up getting, but it seemed like a lot! Thanks for the giveaway.

Kim March 8, 2013 at 8:45 PM

I know we had the blizzard that gave us over 24" in one day! Oh, another of about six....then some dustings until today--which is now March- about 8!

KRubin March 8, 2013 at 8:47 PM

I don't know how much snow we got in February, but it was not all that much! Thank goodness!

Penny March 8, 2013 at 9:03 PM

We received most of our snow in February too..about 15 " or so..

Heather B March 8, 2013 at 9:55 PM

Zero in SC! I think the last week one day they talked about a chance of snow and I actually saw some but it melted as soon as it hit the ground. lol

Lisa Chin March 8, 2013 at 10:02 PM

We had a couple of feet this winter! Fun stuff!

Pat V. March 9, 2013 at 12:03 AM

We had zero inches of snow in February -- in fact, we had no snow at all! (There is usually at least a little, but not this year!)

Marjorie March 9, 2013 at 5:04 AM

In Boise, we had several days with 3-6" of snow - just enough to make driving annoying. Fortunately we are at a low enough elevation that when the sun comes out, it melts off in a few hours, or at most a few days.

mamaraby March 9, 2013 at 5:44 AM

I don't know for sure, but enough so that the piles at the end of the driveway are too tall for me to add more snow to when shoveling.

Mary Ann March 9, 2013 at 6:01 AM

0 in SC this year. I kinda miss it but not enough to move north!

Purl Buttons March 9, 2013 at 6:04 AM

Although it snowed several times in February, it only amounted to about 6 inches total. At least, that was the case here in the North Georgia mountains.

KT March 9, 2013 at 6:20 AM

O inches!!! I live in California :) Thanks for the chance to win

Karen - Quilts...etc. March 9, 2013 at 6:37 AM

an inch or less - I'm in Arkansas - we did get some in January if that counts.

Unknown March 9, 2013 at 6:51 AM

Zero...nothing stuck this year in Atlanta, much to the disappointment of two little boys I know. No snow days means more sewing time for me, though. ;)

B Greene March 9, 2013 at 7:01 AM

I would guess about 17 inches in February (and seven more yesterday). I am about ready for Spring this year! Thanks for the chance to win your great prize!

krislovesfabric March 9, 2013 at 7:04 AM

Hmmm, probably around 8 or so, not much for Indiana this year...

Monica March 9, 2013 at 7:44 AM

Zero, zip, nada, zilch. It tried once for about half a minute and the flakes were microscopic.

Podunk Pretties March 9, 2013 at 7:58 AM

Not 100 Inches! That's insane! Thanks for a chance to win some really cute fabric!

Carolyn March 9, 2013 at 8:22 AM

Sad showing on snow here this year. Maybe half inch or so.

Carol March 9, 2013 at 8:26 AM

Sadly a big fat "0" now that I've moved to southern Texas

Kathy L March 9, 2013 at 8:47 AM

We only had about an inch of snow, thank goodness.

Mary March 9, 2013 at 8:48 AM

I am unsure of the total fall. I would guess we are somewhere around 6-8". The problem became it never was completely cleared away before another round began. We have had several rounds of ice. I have only drove the old SUV all winter because I didn't want the good car on the road with all the salt. Thanks for the chance to win.

LeAnne March 9, 2013 at 9:09 AM

We haven't had any snow this year, but it's been cold. I'd rather be warm and can't wait for the sun to stay out for longer than 20 minutes at a time.

Tiffany March 9, 2013 at 9:47 AM

I'm guessing we got 12 to 18 inches total. All within a couple of days. Then it turned hard and crusty. Luckily, it's melting!

Chiska March 9, 2013 at 10:09 AM

I don't know for sure, but I think it was about 6 inches. Not much and it wasn't very wet--crystal like and very easy to blow around. Thanks for the chance!

tpott March 9, 2013 at 10:12 AM

I think we had one big snow of 15 inches, at least. We just had a few more yesterday, to replace what melted. ;-> Toni Anne

Jocelyn March 9, 2013 at 10:30 AM

We've had zero inches of snow. I love living in the deep south :-) Thanks for the great giveaway!

Emily C March 9, 2013 at 11:01 AM

We got 4-5 inches of snow.

Nancy March 9, 2013 at 11:31 AM

Your give away is so pretty. I live in western Michigan and I am guessing 24" in February--I don't keep track, I just shovel.

WeaslerQuilts March 9, 2013 at 11:58 AM

Well, I live in Central Alabama, so we had two days with some light flurries. Nothing really stuck though, so I can't say how much snow there was. Of course, everyone panicked and the schools closed, but hey, it's a big deal when there's snow in Alabama...

Vicki H March 9, 2013 at 12:11 PM

We broke a 100 year record with 21 inches from 2 storms in 4 days. This isn't much for you northerners but for south central Kansas it is.

Bailey March 9, 2013 at 12:57 PM

About 15 inches, it's been pretty mild here in PA

JoyceLM March 9, 2013 at 1:13 PM

We had some wintry weather several times in February here in central North Carolina, but total accumulation was less than 1 inch - had more icy rain than snow. Thanks for the chance to win.

Jenniffier March 9, 2013 at 3:11 PM

Zero. I am in ca at about 300ft elevation so no snow for me. Thanks for the chance to win.

Rina Mason March 9, 2013 at 3:19 PM

We received a little over 21" in less than a week. Love living in Missouri!

Vroomans' Quilts March 9, 2013 at 3:59 PM

Oh, that is a tough one - several storms thru Feruary here in the NorEast with melt off inbetween - maybe close to 3 feet? Thank you for hosting.

Cara March 9, 2013 at 4:01 PM

We are in California so our snow here was nonexistent. However, at our mountain house in Colorado, we had feet upon feet!

Connie Kresin Campbell March 9, 2013 at 4:03 PM

Great giveaway! I'm in Iowa and we got more snow in February than the rest of the winter. I'm not sure how much.......9 inches??

supersara20 March 9, 2013 at 4:21 PM

I live in Texas, we didn't get any snow last month!

Melinda March 9, 2013 at 4:58 PM

I'm in Georgia and, so far? A big fat zero on snow!

Lisa England March 9, 2013 at 5:11 PM

I don't think we got any inches of snow in February -- maybe a dusting or two.

ThreadCatcher March 9, 2013 at 5:24 PM

Gosh, February had some snow, maybe fifteen inches or so, nothing like you! Thanks for the chance at your giveaway.

Char March 9, 2013 at 5:46 PM

We only got about 6 1/2 inches, we were lucky!

barbara woods March 9, 2013 at 5:48 PM

a few flurries is all we got in n.w.georgia

Sallie March 9, 2013 at 5:52 PM

None - thank goodness! Thanks for the giveaway!

Margaret March 9, 2013 at 5:52 PM

Does Ice count we only had snow flurries this Feb but we did have a ice storm that left power lines down and schools out. The trees were beautiful all encased in ice but it melted the very next day. I live in Arkansas

Jeanne March 9, 2013 at 5:55 PM

I live in Michigan also in the mid-lower region of the state and probably got around 20-30 inches in February alone. Spring can't come soon enough for me now. Thanks for the giveaway.

Just Quilt It March 9, 2013 at 6:29 PM

We may have gotten 3 inches here in Central IL this year. 100 INCHES! My goodness!

Who-lee-uh March 9, 2013 at 8:05 PM

The roll is super yummy! So, did we get snow? NO! Maybe 1/2 an inch total all winter :(
We do live in Oregon so we are used to wet weather, but it was sunny today so that was very nice!

Terry@ a quilting blog March 9, 2013 at 10:17 PM

We got a grand total of 'zero'.....love living in the Southwestern part of the USA....I can see snow on the mountains in the distance (which is my favorite way to see it!!!) Thanks for the sweet giveaway :)

Bj March 9, 2013 at 11:24 PM

Well it may not have been snow to you guys but it was snow to us, we in Phoenix got about a inch or two this year, ok, it was slush but we got it, in February, it was a sight to behold ;) Thank You!

Needled Mom March 10, 2013 at 6:05 AM

We got 0 inches of snow, but we did go and "visit" the snow in February.

Makenzie March 10, 2013 at 6:12 AM

Big fat zero here in Tennessee! I was so disappointed!

Dana Gaffney March 10, 2013 at 6:17 AM

We had 0 down here is Key Largo, but what fun it would have been to be able to say a number.

Mama Spark March 10, 2013 at 6:20 AM

I am not sure how much snow we got but it was probably not as much as you. I am in the Detroit area and I know western MI and up north was much harder hit than we were. Where in MI are you?

Kathy @ Kwilty Pleasures March 10, 2013 at 6:48 AM

I am I. Ohio and we had between 8 to 10 inches. Thnx for a great giveaway!

Unknown March 10, 2013 at 9:09 AM

syvisser@gmail(dot)com

Annmarie March 10, 2013 at 9:11 AM

I live in northern Wisconsin so you just might be my neighbor. We have had a mild snow winter - Feb only saw about 12 inch of new snow. I'm ready for Spring, though. Your fabrics are perfect for thinking spring - thanks for the chance.

Elisabetta March 10, 2013 at 9:32 AM

thank you so much for this nice roll of fabrics, I can't tell you how much snow, enough I guess :P

Joyce Carter March 10, 2013 at 11:11 AM

Zero inches in N.E. Georgia. We got some flurries ,but nothing on the ground. I would love to have had about 3 or 4 inches at least.
Thank you so much for your great giveaway.

BizyStitches March 10, 2013 at 11:47 AM

Thanks for being part of the fun blog hop. Lovely giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win. I would have to just guess, but probably around 20 to 23 inches.

Catskill Quilter March 10, 2013 at 12:03 PM

Melissa, no snow at all here, in sunny northern Florida! I used to live on Lake Ontario, in Oswego NY and we would set records almost every year.

Kathy H March 10, 2013 at 12:09 PM

We hardly had any snow this whole winter so I would say 2 inches total in February.

Madeleine March 10, 2013 at 12:58 PM

I'm guessing probably around 18 or 20 inches totsl but then it all melted pretty quickly after the storms. Thanks for the giveaway, the fabric is super cute!

Reb Thack March 10, 2013 at 1:29 PM

No snow. We live in Northern California (just outside of San Fran) and it hasn't snowed here in 20 years (according to the neighbors). We're transplants from the east coast and are actually jealous of all the snow back home!

Kaynik March 10, 2013 at 1:40 PM

I would say we got about 14 inches of snow in February. Nothing compared to you!

Janarama March 10, 2013 at 6:07 PM

We had the majority of the snow in February ... about 25".

Vivian March 10, 2013 at 6:28 PM

Quilting Babcia March 10, 2013 at 7:15 PM

In our particular part of Oregon we seldom have any snow in February, and this year was no exception. Lots of snow in the mountains though! Your selection of fabrics for the giveaway is wonderfully spring like, and would make a great baby quilt! Thanks for the chance to win.

Darlington Delights March 10, 2013 at 8:11 PM

We didn't get a lot of snow down south in Kentucky where I live...maybe 2-3 inches. Thanks for the lovely giveaway. I'm a new GFC follower, but I wish there was a way for me to follow you by email.

We didn't get snow in February - and then we got over a foot in March! Go figure!

Kelli Fannin Quilts March 12, 2013 at 2:10 PM

Hi Melissa! I live in northern/central CA, and we get fog in the winter, and rain, but it only snows here once every 20 years maybe? When it does, everyone stops and runs outside, even though it melts when it hits the ground. Thank goodness for retired neighbors who love to plow the snow for you!! That is so nice of him! I am your newest follower.. what a sweet/yummy prize! xo

bee March 12, 2013 at 2:47 PM

Siouxzq64@gmail.com March 12, 2013 at 3:33 PM

No snow fell in our little town, that I saw stay, anyway. All around us, it was snowy, but Odessa seems to sit in a little circle of sunshine a lot of the time. The pioneers were wise, to put us here, I think (WA). Of course, year round, it is the driest part of the state....but sunny. Great light for quilting! Thanks for letting us stop by and see your lovely prizes.

StasaLynn March 12, 2013 at 10:43 PM

Hello! What a wonderful rolie polie for your giveaway.... I live in the southwest desert and we did not get any snow in February - BUT we had a bit in the very beginning of March - which is UNHEARD of... nothing substantial but you would have thought they had found bigfoot with all the news reports and posts on Facebook! I am a new follower of your adorable Blog.

I live in California , so no snow where I live although we did get a light dusting on the surrounding hills. The fabric is darling -- thanks for the generous giveaway!

We got Zero inches of snow!!! I kind of miss it. We only got a light dusting once or twice all winter. I live in WA state. Love the fabric my grand daughter love strawberry shortcake and have been eyeing the strawberry fabric in this line to make her a doll quilt. Thanks for the chance to win a jelly roll.

No real snow here in texas. Thanks for the chance!!!!!

First I have to say the quilt in the header of your blog is just gorgeous. I really love it.

Where I live we got 21.2 inches of snow in February. This was the 5th highest ever total. We got almost half of that just a week ago in one day but it still has a long way to go to reach our highest totals in history because I remember a blizzard in the last 70's where we got just buried. My Dad back then had to take the snowblower onto the roof to get all the snow off because other homes were having their roof cave in from the weight of the snow. I am hoping the March in like a lion and out like a lamb is true this year.

No snow--just rain as I'm in sunny CA!

Lou March 13, 2013 at 2:10 PM

0 here in SF. Lovely giveaway. Thanks.

Norma March 13, 2013 at 4:38 PM

Here in NE Ohio(and not in the snow belt), we have not had much snow. Probably less than 10" for the month of Feb. But it has been gray and dreary for it seems like forever! Thank you for participating in the blog hop.

I live in Michigan too. Not sure the exact amount of snow we got without goggling it but I DO KNOW I am soooo ready for spring. The grey clouds need to go. Thank-you for the wonderful opportunity to win the great fabrics you have shown. I think you made a great choice when you bought them!!!

In Maryland/DC area we had around 4 but 2 inches melted in a hour it seemed. Lots of inches, but no staying power :)

We had a couple good storms. Right now if you haven't shoveled recently it blew enough that it gets into your shoes.

No snow in my neck of the woods in the Pacific Northwest. It has just rained & rained & rained some more!

I am in NC. And we have had 2 dustings of snow melted in less than 8 hours. Lots of rain! Thanks for the chance.

I live in kentucky and so far we have had less than an inch. I could not imagine dealing with all the snow you had!! babscorbitt@gmail.com

Diann March 14, 2013 at 10:06 AM

I'm not sure, but I would guess around 25 inches. We were part of the east coast blizzard.

In our part of Wisconsin it seemed to miss us a lot in the month of February. Maybe 6" total? We've gotten 3x that in the month of March!

Nancy-Rose March 14, 2013 at 11:39 AM

ALOT! We had a couple of significant snow storms. But on average, February has about 12" of snow. We had some rain on the weekend, but another dusting of snow last night! Thank you for the opportunity to enter your drawing!

Anya March 14, 2013 at 12:08 PM

Probably about 10-14 all together...thanks for the chance!

Betty March 14, 2013 at 2:08 PM

NW Alabama only got a dusting, but that is normal for us.

Deb March 14, 2013 at 2:37 PM

I'd say ZERO in February (although it could have been a scant inch or two), but last week in March we got 18" here in Virginia! Glad that's over with!

Brenda March 14, 2013 at 3:50 PM

Probably only a couple of inches here in western Ky. But that was alright!
